Open
Forum: A homeowner wanted to know what is to be done about
residents that work on their cars in the community. The president responded
that cars are not to be out of order for more than 24 hours or they would be
ticketed and ultimately towed. There was discussion about homeowners that owned
multiple cars and basically stored them.
Prior to voting on the tax resolution it
was explained that, under federal tax rules, LHOA has elected to only pay tax
on its investment income. The IRS holds
that the assessment income that is rolled over is not taxable income to the
association. A separate resolution must
be approved by the Association members to do this rollover. Our accountants have advised us that by
adopting a resolution that permits this rollover we are then assured that we
can choose the tax filing method those results in the lowest taxes.
Election
of Board members and vote on tax resolution and by-law changes: The candidates were Anthony McSorley
, Judi Davenport and Pat Willingham.
The votes were cast and counted.
Board elections: The tax resolution was passed. The two new
