LHOA MESSAGE BOARD GUIDELINES 2007

DON’T – Use profanity, abuse or demean your fellow users. Posting assumptions about someone's motivations, actions, or intelligence are inappropriate and prohibited

DON’T – Use the board to spread mis-information. Be sure of your facts.

DON’T – Post your message in more than one discussion on this board.

DO – Remember to be courteous to your fellow posters.

DO – Use the edit button to alter the contents of your post if you find that it does not meet the above guidelines.

More examples of content that violate the LHOA message board guidelines:

- Personal attacks on other users.

- Explicit/vulgar/obscene language.

- Posting or referencing sexually explicit images or other offensive content.

- Racially or ethnically offensive content.

- Depictions of gratuitous violence.

- Material that defames, abuses, or threatens physical harm to others or oneself or otherwise contains illegal content.

- Individually, identifiable information of a minor (any person under the age of 18), including, without limitation, any of the following: full name, home address, telephone number, picture or the name of their school.

- Off-topic discussions and excess postings.

- Posting of sponsorships, ads, and banners

- Publishing any links to the LHOA message board on any webpage or publication without LHOA written approval.

- Distribution of any content from the LHOA message board without written approval.

- The cutting and pasting of copyrighted information.

- The posting of personal e-mail addresses and/or phone numbers of LHOA members without their consent.

- Harvesting of screen names.

ENFORCEMENT

We strongly encourage our members to self-police their actions and re-read their posts before submitting. If you have made an error in judgment you can edit your message. In addition we encourage our members to report any message that one feels violates the guidelines for your LHOA message board.

Moderators of this board will enforce the above guidelines in a variety of ways. Messages may be moved to more appropriate, or new, areas. For example, posts that are insulting, inflammatory, demeaning, or are otherwise abusive will be removed and upon vote of the website committee, may then be deleted, edited or placed back on the message board. As it is not always possible to isolate one post, sometimes entire threads will be subjected to this same treatment.

A warning will be issued to any user that violates the LHOA message board guidelines and the website committee reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account that continues to post content that violates the LHOA message board guidelines.

If you object to a moderator’s action, email the moderator at websitecommittee@leewood.us, do not post your complaints on the message board.
