Fairfax County Neighborhood College

October 6 - November 10, 2006

“Building a Strong Community”

 

Neighborhood College is a FREE , six-week leadership development program designed to help you learn more about your local government and community.

County residents will learn how to work with other residents, community organizations and local government to strengthen your neighborhood and promote a strong sense of community.

- Learn the Keys to Being Active In Your Community -

toony town Through a combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical experiences, participants will learn about:

  • County government and how it works
  • The characteristics of your community
  • Working effectively in your diverse community
  • Identifying and accessing community resources
  • Participating in the decision making process
  • Building community partnerships
  • Becoming an effective leader in your community

 

Classes will be held on consecutive Friday mornings

October 6 – November 10, 2006
